How do the new VKs navigate their identities and their place in the world of Auradon?
The gates of Auradon are opening once again, and a new generation of villains’ kids, also known as VKs, are making their way to the land of Prince and Princesses. The latest installment of the Descendants franchise, Descendants 3, introduces fans to a whole new set of characters, as they embark on a journey to find the missing piece of their world.
The new VKs include Celia, the daughter of Dr. Facilier, Squeaky and Squirmy, Smee’s twin sons, and the infamous daughter of Hades herself, Mal’s arch-nemesis, Uma. Each of these characters brings a unique perspective to the story, offering fans a deeper understanding of the world they’ve grown to love.
Celia, played by Jadah Marie, is a fierce and ambitious character seeking to make a name for herself in Auradon. Her connection to one of the franchise’s most iconic villains, Dr. Facilier, instantly creates intrigue and a desire to see where her story will go.
Squeaky and Squirmy, portrayed by Christian Convery and Luke Roessler respectively, are the first set of twin VKs we’ve seen. Their adorably mischievous attitudes and close bond with each other are a refreshing contrast to some of the other more serious characters.
Finally, we have Uma, played by the electrifying China Anne McClain. She is back and seeking revenge on Mal, as well as her own chance at redemption. Her character brings a level of complexity and depth that adds a new layer to the franchise’s ongoing exploration of nature versus nurture and the possibility of redemption for even the most wicked of villains.
As these new VKs navigate their way through the perils of Auradon, they must also come to terms with their own identities and what it means to be a part of something bigger than themselves. The message of inclusion and finding common ground is as relevant as ever, and Descendants 3 continues to inspire young viewers to embrace differences and celebrate individuality.
Overall, the addition of these new VKs breathes new life into a franchise that already had a devoted following. They each brings a unique perspective, and their stories will undoubtedly keep fans on the edge of their seats. As the road to Auradon continues, we can’t wait to see what surprises are in store for us in Descendants 3.
