Smosh Pit’s food-based fear factor gets even nastier, and this time nobody’s spared.

The third installment of Eat It or Yeet It landed on Smosh’s secondary channel, Smosh Pit, on July 16, 2019, running twelve minutes and fifty-nine seconds of cast members staring down Garrett Palm’s latest culinary nightmares. The format is simple and brutal: each dish gets a choice — eat it, or toss it in the trash bin and take the loss. This episode raised the stakes by bringing in a new face from Smosh Games and putting Olivia Sui directly in the path of the round’s worst plate.

The Format Behind the Madness

Eat It or Yeet It was born from a pitch by Shayne Topp, originally floated under the working title Face Jam before it evolved into the show fans now know. Culinary producer Garrett Palm handles the actual cooking, mixing normal dishes in with deliberately strange or downright foul ones so the cast can’t predict which plate is which. Courtney Miller runs the show from the host’s chair rather than the eating chair, a role she settled into after deciding early on that she’d rather ask the questions than choke down the food.

Mari Takahashi Joins the Chopping Block

Episode three marked the first time a Smosh Games cast member crossed over into the Eat It or Yeet It rotation, with Mari Takahashi stepping in alongside the regular Smosh Pit lineup. That kind of cross-channel casting had already become part of the show’s early identity, rotating in different personalities from across the Smosh roster to keep the dynamic unpredictable from episode to episode.

The episode’s tension built around Olivia Sui, who drew the round’s worst dish and had to make the call in real time. She chose not to eat it, sending the plate into the bin rather than risking whatever Palm had cooked up. It’s the kind of moment the format is built around — a cast member weighing a guaranteed miserable bite against the embarrassment of yeeting it in front of everyone.

Smosh Pit’s Momentum Since the Mythical Deal

Eat It or Yeet It arrived on Smosh Pit in the middle of a broader growth stretch for the channel following Smosh’s acquisition by Rhett & Link’s Mythical Entertainment earlier in 2019. The series quickly became one of the channel’s early breakout formats, joining other physical-challenge content that Smosh had leaned into around the same period, in the same spirit as stunts like World’s Largest Challenge! and the endurance-style test in WORKING OUT FOR 24 HOURS STRAIGHT!!.

Three episodes in, the show had already settled into a rhythm — rotate the cast, bring in a wildcard from another Smosh channel, and let Palm’s dishes do the rest. With Mari Takahashi’s debut in the books and Olivia Sui narrowly dodging disaster, the only real question heading into episode four is who’s getting handed the worst plate next.
