Their fatal foreshadowing on this list played out in songs, letters, and haunting conversations.

Many stars already have a mythic air about them, so if they make predictions or even jokes about their deaths – and fate follows through – those stories become otherworldly.

Did all the celebrities who predicted their own death end up dying as they predicted?

The world of celebrities is not always as glamorous as it seems. Despite all the fame, fortune, and success, even the most famous and beloved stars are not immune to the inevitability of death. In fact, some celebrities have even predicted their own demise, leaving their fans shocked and saddened by their eerie prescience.

One of the most well-known examples of this phenomenon is the late musician Prince. In an interview with Essence magazine back in 1998, the iconic singer spoke about his feelings of mortality, saying, “My body’s been beat up for years. I don’t think I have many more albums left in me.” He even went on to suggest that he wouldn’t be around much longer, stating, “I don’t want to be the old guy at the club. It’s not a good look.”

Sadly, Prince’s prediction turned out to be all too accurate. He passed away unexpectedly in 2016 at the age of 57, leaving millions of fans around the world mourning his loss.

Another celebrity who appeared to have a premonition of her own death was legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor. In her memoir, “My Love Affair with Jewelry,” published in 2002, Taylor wrote about her near-death experiences while filming the 1963 movie “Cleopatra.” She described being airlifted to a hospital in London after falling ill on set, writing, “I remember lying in the hospital, thinking I could hear my mother weeping somewhere far off, and I didn’t want to go back. Then I drifted off.”

Although Taylor recovered from her illness and went on to live for another 40 years, her words have taken on a haunting quality in light of her eventual passing in 2011.

Of course, not every prediction of death by a celebrity turns out to be true. For example, the late rapper Tupac Shakur was infamous for his lyrics about death and his own mortality. In the song “Only God Can Judge Me,” Tupac rapped, “I hear the doctor standing over me, screaming I can make it.” Despite these ominous words, Tupac survived a shooting in 1994, only to be killed in a drive-by shooting in 1996.

Similarly, comedian George Carlin frequently joked about his own impending demise, famously quipping, “I know it’s going to get worse before it gets better. And I’m not saying that to be negative, I’m just saying that to be realistic. I mean, it’s the fucking truth. You know, you get diagnosed with cancer, you’re dead, man. That’s all there is to it.”

However, Carlin went on to live for several more years and died peacefully at the age of 71.

In the end, these celebrity predictions of death serve as a poignant reminder of our own mortality. Despite all the riches and success that fame can bring, we are all ultimately subject to the same fate. It is up to us to live every day to its fullest, in the knowledge that life is precious and fleeting.
