Tj Hunt just turned a brand-new 2020 Toyota Supra into a science project.

The car had barely been on dealer lots when Tj Hunt decided to gut its suspension. In his August 2019 video “My 2020 Toyota Supra gets BAGGED!”, the Hunt & Company founder and automotive YouTuber pulls the factory struts and rear multi-link hardware off his fifth-generation A90 Supra to install an air suspension system that, at the time, simply didn’t exist for this platform. The video, sponsored by Ring, documents a build with no parts catalog, no fitment guide, and no prior template to copy.

A Car Too New To Have Parts

Bag kits, strut adapters, and bracket sets for other cars take years of trial and error from aftermarket manufacturers before they’re sold as bolt-in products. The Supra had none of that runway. Hunt’s crew essentially had to reverse-engineer a fitment that manufacturers hadn’t gotten around to producing yet.

That meant treating the brand-new OEM suspension as raw material rather than a finished product. The factory struts, springs, and the rear multi-link setup all came off the car, piece by piece, to make room for air struts and bags that had never been mated to this chassis before.

Building The Fitment From Scratch

Fabricating mounts and adapting hardware for a car this new is the kind of hands-on problem-solving that separates a channel doing sponsored reviews from one actually building things.
