World’s Edge is tearing itself apart, and Respawn just dropped the trailer that proves it.
Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts released the official gameplay trailer for Apex Legends: Emergence on July 26, 2021, giving players their first real look at Season 10 ahead of its August 3 launch. The footage centers on three things: a new recon Legend named Seer, a brutal new LMG built by Rampart, and a version of World’s Edge that looks like it’s collapsing under its own weight.

Seer’s Drone Swarm Changes the Recon Game
The trailer gives players their first in-game footage of Seer’s kit in action, and it’s built entirely around information warfare. His Heart Seeker passive lets him detect nearby enemy heartbeats when he aims down sights, while Focus of Attention fires a blast of micro-drones that interrupts enemy actions and reveals their location if they’re caught in it. His ultimate, Exhibit, drops a sphere of drones that shows enemy health bars, footsteps, and gunshots to Seer and his squad for anyone moving inside it.
That kit puts Seer in the same recon lane as Bloodhound and Crypto, but his tools are aggressive rather than passive scans — he’s designed to punish players who push fights or try to third-party a squad already engaged. It’s a natural fit for a season built around Respawn narrowing safe ground and forcing fights into tighter, more chaotic spaces.
The Rampage LMG Adds a New Wrinkle to Heavy Ammo
Rampart’s fingerprints are all over the new hardware too. The Rampage LMG, previewed in the trailer, is a heavy-ammo weapon built for mid-range firefights, but its signature trick is the ability to load a Thermite Grenade straight into the gun itself. Doing so temporarily overcharges its fire rate, turning it into a door-shredding, close-quarters weapon that changes how it should be played from engagement to engagement.
Load a Thermite Grenade into the Rampage, and it stops being a mid-range LMG and starts being a door-shredding, close-range nightmare.
It’s the kind of dual-identity weapon Apex Legends has leaned into before, giving players a reason to hold onto grenades they might otherwise throw away immediately — a small design choice that could shift looting priorities across the map.
World’s Edge Pays the Price for the Planet Harvester
The biggest visual shock in the trailer is the state of World’s Edge itself. Ongoing mining by the Planet Harvester has left the map cracking apart, and two of its most recognizable landmarks, Refinery and Sorting Factory, are gone. In their place, the trailer reveals Climatizer and Lava Siphon as new points of interest, alongside moving gondolas that give squads mobile cover as they cross terrain that’s become genuinely hazardous to stand on.
Respawn has reshaped this map before, but wiping out two named POIs at once signals how far Season 10 is willing to go to keep veteran players relearning rotations and third-party lines. Anyone who grinded ranked on the old Refinery layout is starting from scratch again come August 3.
