2. Bobby Bloom
Bobby Bloom was an American singer-songwriter who is best known for his hit song “Montego Bay.” Sadly, Bloom passed away in 1974 at the young age of 28, in a tragic incident where he accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun. “Montego Bay” remains Bloom’s only hit song, but it is still played on the radio and in commercials around the world.
3. David Ruffin
David Ruffin was a talented Motown artist who was the lead singer of the legendary group “The Temptations.” However, after leaving the group, he was only able to achieve one solo hit. His 1969 hit “My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me)” showcased Ruffin’s powerful vocals and soulful sound, which captivated audiences around the world. He passed away in 1991 at the age of 50 due to a drug overdose.
4. Lesley Gore
Lesley Gore was a prominent singer in the 1960s who achieved mainstream success with her hit songs “It’s My Party” and “You Don’t Own Me.” Gore’s unique voice and strong lyrics spoke to a generation of young women who were becoming more empowered and confident in their beliefs. 5. Zager and Evans
