Drift cars, drag racing, and demo derby! Today’s battle is INSANE!

How can experiencing a traumatic event like getting hit by a car change a person’s perspective on life?

On the 23rd of November, 2021, I experienced a life-changing event that I never thought would happen to me. I got hit by a car while crossing the road, and the impact left me with severe injuries and a newfound appreciation for life.

At the time of the accident, I was on my way to meet a friend. I had just crossed the street when a car appeared out of nowhere and crashed into me. The force of the impact was so great that I was thrown onto the windshield and then onto the pavement. Everything happened so fast, and I remember feeling disoriented and in excruciating pain.

Thankfully, a passerby called an ambulance, and I was rushed to the hospital. I spent several days there, receiving treatment for my injuries, including a fractured leg, a broken arm, and several cuts and bruises. The physical pain was unbearable, but it was nothing compared to the emotional trauma I was experiencing.

Getting hit by a car was a wake-up call for me. It made me realize how precious life is and how easily it can be taken away. I had never appreciated my good health or my ability to walk or run until it was taken away from me. I also realized how important it is to prioritize safety, whether that be crossing the street at a designated crossing point or wearing a helmet while cycling.

Another thing I learned from this experience is the kindness of people. During my time in the hospital, I received overwhelming support from family, friends, and even strangers. Some brought me food or flowers, while others simply sat with me and talked. The care and compassion shown to me during my recovery showed me that there is goodness in the world, even in the darkest of times.

Being hit by a car was a traumatic experience that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. However, it taught me valuable life lessons that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. I’m thankful for the medical professionals who cared for me, the kind strangers who showed me support, and the chance to recover and start anew. Accidents can happen to anyone, and I hope that by sharing my story, others will learn from my experience and be more mindful of their safety.
