What is the Apex Games, and how does Fuse become involved in the competition?
EA and Respawn Entertainment recently released a new cinematic trailer for Apex Legends titled “Stories from the Outlands: Gridiron.” The trailer introduces a brand new legend, Fuse, and elaborates on his backstory.
Fuse, whose real name is Walter Fitzroy, has a passion for explosives and had become a renowned enforcer for the planet Salvo’s top incarcerator, known as “the Mercenary Syndicate.” However, things take a dramatic turn for Fuse when he accidentally blows up a ‘hire car’ belonging to Salvo’s kingpin, Magistrate. The incident sparks a brutal war between the Mercenary Syndicate and the Magistrate, leading to numerous casualties.
The trailer sees Fuse serving time in a Salvo prison, where he’s given the task of entertaining other prisoners by organizing a deadly fight club. However, it is this fight club that catches the eye of the Apex Games’ ringmaster, who has been scouting for new blood for the competition. He sends his scouts to recruit Fuse, a task they carry out despite the Salvo warden’s protests.
Of course, throughout the entire video, we see Fuse wreaking havoc with his explosive mania, and he’s eventually offered a spot in the Apex Games. We witness him entering the battle royale arena in spectacular fashion, lobbing a cluster of grenades at his competitors.
The trailer for “Stories from the Outlands: Gridiron” provides an in-depth insight into the backstory of Apex Legends’ newest legend, Fuse, and what led him to become a contender in the Apex Games. The trailer is thrilling, brilliantly animated, and an all-around cinematic masterpiece. It’s fair to say that this video will get Apex Legend players excited for the upcoming season 8.
