Marvel’s newest odd couple gets put through a Buzzfeed-style gauntlet, and the cast can’t agree on who wins.

TV Guide sat down the principal cast of Marvel Studios’ Loki for a segment built around one deceptively simple bit: pick Loki or pick Mobius. Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku and Tom Hiddleston worked through a string of absurd hypotheticals — red carpet styling, trivia night, burying a body — and the answers split the group right down the middle between chaos and procedure.

For this round, the questions ranged from who’d dress you for a premiere to who’d captain your trivia team to who you’d trust to help dispose of a body — the kind of low-stakes, high-absurdity setup that works because these actors clearly know their characters cold.

Hiddleston, unsurprisingly, doesn’t hedge. Asked to choose between his own trickster god and Owen Wilson’s buttoned-up TVA bureaucrat, he goes straight to the character’s core appeal: nobody, including the audience, ever knows what Loki’s going to do next.

Order Versus Chaos, Cast by Cast

Wilson takes the opposite tack, and it’s a genuinely funny contrast on camera — the guy who plays the buttoned-down Time Variance Authority agent making the case for buttoned-down reliability in real life too. His pitch for Mobius rests on the character’s predictability: he knows his own next move, and he claims to know Loki’s next move as well, which in the show’s own logic is exactly Mobius’s job.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw, playing TVA judge Ravonna Renslayer, doesn’t commit easily. She credits Loki with charm and charisma but won’t let go of Mobius’s intelligence and wit either, landing the segment’s most genuine “I can’t pick” answer. Wunmi Mosaku, as Hunter B-15, breaks the other way, going with Loki for his magnetic energy and fascinating complexity.

Sylvie Weighs In

Sophia Di Martino, introduced in the series as the mysterious variant Sylvie, sides with Wilson’s character over her own show’s antihero, reasoning that Mobius “seems like he’s got his head screwed on a little bit better than Loki.” It’s a telling answer from an actor whose character spends much of the season clashing with Loki’s impulsiveness on-screen.

Taken together, the cast’s answers map almost exactly onto how the show writes these two: Loki as unpredictable and magnetic, Mobius as procedural and dependable, with everyone in between forced to pick a lane they don’t fully want to pick. It’s the kind of promotional segment that works precisely because it doesn’t ask the cast to perform — it just lets them describe the characters they already know inside out, the same characters driving the streaming rollout that made Loki one of the more talked-about entries in this stretch of Marvel Studios’ Disney+ slate, alongside the studio’s next announced series, Moon Knight.

Marvel’s press cycle for Loki leaned hard into these lighter cast segments right as the series premiered, and this one lands right in that window — the kind of bit that gets clipped and shared far past its original interview slot, the same way plenty of other 2021 pop-culture moments did. Nobody on that couch actually settles the Loki-or-Mobius argument, and that’s the point — the show itself hadn’t settled it yet either.
